Milford Planning Board sends unfavorable recommendations on two ZBA applications and advances food truck bylaw update. Member Joseph A. Calagione, sitting as chair for the evening, led a three-member quorum through a full agenda March 4.

The board voted 3-0 to recommend denial of a variance request at 12 East Walnut Street — where an applicant sought to create a lot with only 34 feet of frontage against a 100-foot minimum, citing inability to maximize property value as the hardship — and 3-0 to recommend denial of a special permit at 17 Water Street to convert a nonconforming structure into a two-family residence with severely inadequate parking. The board also approved an amended site plan for 10-12 Beach Street with a condition excluding six parking spaces from calculations because they encroach on the town right of way, and voted unanimously to sponsor a Mullen Rule statute article for the Select Board's warrant. Member Christopher Wilson reported that an interagency working group agreed a draft food truck bylaw revision must reach the Planning Board by March 17 to make the May 18 annual town meeting.
