Lunenburg Select Board Approves Appointments, APR Lease, and Student Art Event

LUNENBURG — May 5, 2026 — Lunenburg Select Board learns town-owned 925 Mass Ave property carries a negative $78,000 appraised value. Town Manager reported Monday that an independent appraisal found environmental remediation costs exceed the site's clean market value, quoting the report: "I do not believe the property is marketable in its current state without some kind of grant, credit, or other funding." The board voted unanimously to ratify the appointment of Jonathan Francis as outreach coordinator, filling a vacancy left by Pauline Roy, and appointed Maura Lizzik of 747 Page Street to the town's 300th Anniversary Committee. The board also approved, unanimously and contingent on integration with the Lunenburg Business Association's May 30 Spring Fair, a student community art show proposed by Lunenburg High School civics students Jen Higgins and Angie Richards. Accounts payable for the week totaled $1,067,626.28.
