Hardwick's Select Board and Finance Committee found the town has underfunded its IT budget for at least four years, with actual spending now roughly $20,000 over the budgeted $38,000. Town Administrator Justine said Hardwick plans to seek competitive bids for IT services and floated raising the fiscal year 2027 allocation to about $60,000. The boards also reviewed a combined $1.7 million administration, debt and general government budget, a flat $3.531 million schools line and a $906,000 sewer enterprise fund.
Conservation Commission volunteers Bill and Becky said "we don't get any help" and asked for a paid, possibly regional, conservation agent as development pressure grows. No formal votes were taken; the boards meet again March 30 to cover debt, general government and insurance.
