Grafton Senior Center Entrance Closed Through August For Ramp Work

DATELINE — GRAFTON

The front entrance of the Grafton Senior Center and its adjacent parking spots will stay closed through the end of August while crews finish ramp construction that began July 27, according to the town's News Flash.

TOWN HALL

The Senior Center closure is the most immediate town hall item affecting residents this week: the town says the front entrance and nearby parking will remain out of service through the end of the month as ramp work continues.

Separately, the town is recruiting Grafton Community Liaisons, described in a News Flash post as an opportunity for residents "passionate about connecting with members of your community and advocating for community needs." The town has also formed a new Grafton Common Traffic Study Committee and is accepting applications; the panel is charged with developing a strategic plan for traffic changes and improvements at the Common.

On the public-health front, the Central Mass. Mosquito Control Project will be spraying in Grafton on August 6, 13, 20 and 27 in response to resident concerns, though the town cautions the dates are tentative and subject to weather.

SCHOOLS

Grafton Public Schools has streamlined and centralized its supply lists for elementary and middle school students ahead of the 2026-27 school year, according to the district website. The district is also running iPad deployment sessions this summer for new Grafton High School students and incoming ninth graders as families prepare for the August 26 start of school.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Grafton Rec Concert Series returns to the Common on Thursday evening, with another date set for August 13. The weekly Grafton Farmers Market continues on the Common on Wednesdays, including August 12, 19 and 26. Later this month, GAAP Recovery is hosting an Overdose Awareness Remembrance Vigil on the Common on August 30.
