Grafton Planning Board clears three projects in single session

Grafton Planning Board unanimously advances an ADU, a taco kitchen and a Tufts parking lot in one night. The board, chaired by Robert Hassinger, closed all three public hearings by 5-0 votes and directed staff to draft approval decisions for a 900-square-foot accessory dwelling unit at 18 Shrewsbury Street proposed by Kenton Chase, a basement food-prep permit at 135 Westboro Road sought by Daniel Surian for Taqueria Acapulco's Mexican Food, and a 153-space parking lot with 21 EV charging spaces at Tufts University's One Ridge Road campus. During the Tufts hearing, resident Michael Rak flagged a pedestrian sightline issue near a Ridge Road crosswalk, saying the space "could be painted with some diagonal parking stripes for motorcycles." The board also released the final lots in the Abby Woods subdivision and confirmed a new planning director starts May 11.

Two members are expected to miss the May 18 meeting when final decisions are due.
