Grafton Health Board Votes 4-0 to Recommend Tufts Contract Renewal

Grafton Board of Health votes 4-0 to recommend renewing its Tufts biosafety consulting contract. The board, in a 20-minute remote session, questioned consultant Colleen Driskill on her qualifications and pricing before recommending a two-year renewal to the Select Board, effective July 1, 2026. Driskill, who has 37 years in environmental health and safety and 17 years as a biosafety professional, said she researched market rates and found high-level consultants charge around $350 an hour, calling her own fee "still far below" that benchmark.

Board Clerk Andrew Chalupka clarified that Driskill is engaged by the town of Grafton, not Tufts, and said he hoped "the primary focus is the safety of the facility within the community." Chair Jennifer Maynard and members William Muller and Radhika Balaji Prabhu joined Chalupka in the unanimous roll-call vote.
