Fitchburg Extends Yearly Landfill Stickers Through September 30

FITCHBURG — The city is giving residents more time to use their landfill stickers, extending the yearly passes through September 30 — a practical heads-up as the summer disposal season picks up.

The city's website is carrying an emergency alert notice that yearly landfill stickers, which would otherwise have expired, are now valid through September 30. No additional action is required by residents who already have a sticker; the extension is automatic. The city has not released details on the reason for the extension, but the timing coincides with the end of the fiscal year.

Also posted on the town homepage: a notice regarding the organization of the Fitchburg Tourism Destination Marketing District, and a voting-location change notice (posted in Spanish as "Cambios en el Lugar de Votación"), indicating at least one polling place has been reassigned. Residents with upcoming election obligations should check the city's website at fitchburgma.gov for updated polling locations.

The city's calendar shows a Conservation Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 1, and the First Thursday InTown Fitchburg event running July 2–3.
