Fitchburg Commission Delays Minutes Vote, Sets September Recycling and Stormwater Events

Fitchburg's Resources and Conservation Commission approved no formal votes at its August 10 meeting, instead locking in a busy September schedule and hearing infrastructure updates at a session that adjourned at a commission-record 8:16 p.m. Conservation Agent Jordan Vachon confirmed Resource Solutions and Pelletary as vendors for the September 19 Fall Recycling Day, warned of a potentially record turnout tied to elevated resident call volume, and proposed handing residents in the drop-off queue quarter-page cards promoting upcoming events. The commission planned a Stormwater Awareness Week campaign for September 19 through 27, targeting 20 or more new enrollees in Fitchburg's Adopt-A-Storm-Drain program out of an existing base of roughly 60 to 70 adopted drains, and explored a public webinar watch party at the Fitchburg Community Center.
