Gardner Conservation Commission continues two wetland hearings and approves up to $400 in MACC dues. The commission voted unanimously at its July 28 meeting to continue both a tree-removal request at 282 Brookside Drive and a Notice of Intent amendment for a public water supply well at 827 Green Street — the latter filed by McCarty Engineering on behalf of behavioral health organization Gamma — to July 27, pending review by the city engineer. Weston Pliss of McCarty Engineering presented DEP conditions requiring a 48-hour pump test with readings every two hours at a minimum rate of 1.1 gallons per minute, targeting an approved draw of 1,190 gallons per day, with commissioners raising concern that the well would sit roughly 65 feet from wetlands draining into Coward's Pond, part of the city's drinking supply.

The commission also approved up to $400 from Wetlands Protection Act funds for Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions membership dues, and received an update that roughly $360,000 in park improvements at Olivia Case are expected to be completed by November 2026.
