Finance Committee backs six special town meeting articles

Finance Committee · Meeting of October 29, 2026

Sturbridge Finance Committee recommended six special town meeting articles and dropped a seventh. Members voted unanimously by roll call, including one remote member, on Falls Road culvert easements ($10,000), Cedar Street sidewalk easements ($20,000), a $55,000 sewer reserve replenishment, a $35,000 portable generator, Route 20 pump station design, and $75,000 in Cedar Street waterline design. Staff said the sewer reserve would fall from $1,807,302.49 to $1,362,302.49 if Articles 37 through 39 pass.

The committee recommended no action on a roughly $5,000 DPW contract article in favor of a reserve fund transfer, and it continued the library elevator article to Nov. 10 after a bid opening was delayed.
