Dudley Conservation Commission Unanimously Approves Four Applications, Ratifies Two Enforcement Orders

DUDLEY — April 1, 2026 — Dudley Conservation Commission ratified two enforcement orders and cleared four land-use applications unanimously at its April 1 meeting. The commission voted to issue standard orders of conditions for 188 Southbridge Road, a shared-driveway project by Alexis Fortes that had required a stormwater redesign to move infrastructure out of the 50-foot wetland buffer (DEP CE 146-0818), and for 54 Sawmill Road, where Malinda Anders sought approval for a rip-rap retaining wall to arrest pool-area erosion (DEP CE 146-0819). Negative determinations were issued for a septic replacement at 200 Southbridge Road and a garage addition at 2 Norman Lane. The most significant action was ratification of enforcement orders against two properties — a Southbridge Road parcel (Map 217, Lot 54) where excavation occurred in endangered species habitat and drew complaints from MassDEP's Endangered Species Program, and 6 Progress Avenue, where buffer-zone work proceeded without commission filing. Environmental consultant Matt Morrow told the board state regulators "wanted us to write up the enforcement order and send it out."
