NORTHBOROUGH — The Northborough Open Space Committee voted 5-0 to seek $200,000 in Community Preservation Act funding for the town's conservation reserve, which currently holds about $530,000. The panel also approved Mark Fokima and Bernard Byrne-Krafzig as new voting members of the Trails Committee, replacing Bob Mihalik and Cheryl Devine, who stepped down. Trails Committee representative Brian Belfer told the committee that engineering firm Stantec presented revised drawings for the MWRA aqueduct bridge project on September 15, with roughly 30 more days of design work expected.

Member Carter Brannan reported two Green Street parcels recently went before the Planning Board for subdivision, but the committee declined to pursue acquiring nearby land, with Belfer saying "there is so much land that conservation already has." Belfer also said a new "Heron Loop" trail at 432 Whitney Street is now open to the public.
