Select Board · Meeting of September 9, 2026

Clinton Select Board votes 3-1 against funding Strand Theatre marquee, risking $100,000 state grant. Chair Mary R. Dickhaut led opposition, saying she had "no intention of putting seventy thousand dollars into the marquee" given the property owner's contribution had shrunk to roughly $7,000 from an original 50-50 commitment.

The board separately awarded a $210,000 landfill containment basin cleanup contract to Onyx Corp. of Acton on a single bid, and voted 3-1 to approve a long-requested no-parking zone on Allen Street after Vice Chair William F. Connolly Jr. described a "parking lot packed, cars on top of each other" near the site. Town Administrator Karyn Clark told the board she will research whether more than $150,000 in unspent COVID-era premium pay could be extended to additional town employees, with a report due September 23.

The board also approved $500 donations each to a touch-a-truck fundraiser and a golf tournament.
