Capital Planning · Meeting of May 6, 2026

WARREN — The Capital Planning Committee voted to support taking $300,000 from capital stabilization for the Senior Center HVAC project. Members said about $273,000 in free cash was available, with roughly $128,770 left after warrant items and only about $17,000 expected to roll forward after the snow and ice deficit. One member said the study was finished and warned that bid prices rise quickly if not acted on, saying "the price has gone up exponentially." Members also recommended $35,000 in free cash for a police cruiser.

They said they would seek to replenish stabilization once the state certifies free cash in the fall, and they deferred turnout gear, ambulance, fire engine and street sweeper requests. Their recommendations go to the Select Board.
