Bylaw Review Committee · Meeting of May 27, 2026

SOUTHBRIDGE — The Bylaw Review Committee approved a package of Home Rule Charter conformity changes to chapters one through three of the town bylaws. Chair Stephen Kelly led the review of single-issue amendments, which set town elections on the second Tuesday in June, restored a five-member Liquor Licensing Board and added "unless otherwise required by law" to poll hours of 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The committee also dropped "antenna" from the Cable TV Advisory Committee's name and fixed a spelling and a citation error.

A section on the building inspector's title was postponed pending a conversation with the town manager. Members voted unanimously to review chapters five and six at their next meeting, set for June 25, with department staff invited to check fees and practice.
