Brookfield Board of Health approves conditional food permit for White's Landing as DEP water review drags. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to allow White's Landing, owned by Patty White, to continue operating under a conditional 2026 food permit while the state Department of Environmental Protection determines whether the property's well qualifies as a public water supply — a question the Lester Regional Public Health Coalition raised with DEP without first notifying White or the board. White told the board she had waited six weeks with no communication after a February 12 inspection, saying, "When I reached out to the board, the board didn't know either." The board also voted unanimously to approve a software permitting contract with Relevant Systems Incorporated and to nominate Steve Novak and Deb Young as animal inspectors, while tabling a wasteband compliance plan for the town's landfill to the next meeting.
