Board of Health · Meeting of October 22, 2026

SHREWSBURY — The Shrewsbury Board of Health voted 3-0 to approve a new permit fee schedule effective January 1, 2027. A health department staff member said the fees were recalculated from inspection and administrative costs, with the biggest changes for food establishments by risk level and for children's recreational camps, which will be tiered by camper count. Staff estimated about $12,000 in added revenue, based on 2025 permits.

Current permit holders will not see increases before then. Grafton and West Boylston are working toward the same schedule. The board also heard that a water fluoridation forum is set for December 17 at 6 p.m. at Shrewsbury High School, and that inspectors have completed 991 inspections across the three communities this year.
