BERLIN — The Berlin Planning Board approved a lot-line split on Boylston Road and kept debating a contractor's parked work truck. Engineer Ryan Proctor of Dillis & Roy won unanimous, 3-0 approval for a plan creating a new conforming lot at 97 Boylston Road for owners Carl and Mary Matthew. Separately, Zoning Board of Appeals member Jim Royer told planners that town counsel says the ZBA can permit a resident's town-contracted service vehicle as a "home-based contracting business" if its weight falls within bylaw limits, though Royer questioned whether the arrangement really fits the zoning definition of a "contractor yard." No vote was taken; the matter returns to the ZBA in November.
The board also agreed to add zoning-only meetings on November 17 and December 15 to prioritize inclusionary zoning, accessory dwelling units, stormwater management and new definitions ahead of spring Town Meeting.
