WESTBOROUGH — January 28, 2026 — Westborough Library trustees approved a revised social media policy and the 2026 closure schedule at their January 28 meeting, while hearing that a corroded chiller pipe at the library's construction site may require full replacement and could affect the project timeline. The board has already authorized up to $50,000 for pipe demolition and removal, with the Owner's Project Manager having successfully pushed back on a higher initial contractor estimate; full replacement costs remain unknown pending further testing. Library Director Keisha told trustees the library is "probably past capacity" as FF&E and design decisions for the permanent building compete with budget season ahead of a March town meeting. The board also received a first full briefing on "One Book, One Borough," a joint initiative with Northborough, Southborough, and Marlborough libraries built around Sarah Beth Durst's novel "The Spell Shop," with programming running February through May and an author visit planned for early May in Marlborough.
