CLINTON — The Bigelow Free Public Library Board of Trustees elected new officers and began fact-finding on the library building's future after a construction project failed. Trustees unanimously installed Tina as chair, Jill as vice chair, and kept Jake signing financial warrants. Library Director Marie reported the building project "did not pass," with 99 votes short of the needed margin, and said the town will lack a town administrator for roughly two weeks.
Trustees voted to have Gloria draft a thank-you letter to the Friends of the Bigelow Library. The board also agreed to hold a separate, publicly posted meeting with project architect Phil O'Brien, tentatively July 13, 14 or 27, calling it a "fact-finding mission" rather than a decision-making session. Members acknowledged they still have no mechanism to address trustees who chronically miss meetings, saying "there is nothing that... there is nothing to be done at the moment, unless it's in the bylaws."
