Shrewsbury High School Building Committee Unanimously Appoints PMA Associates as Owner's Project Manager

SHREWSBURY — April 7, 2026 — Shrewsbury High School Building Committee selects PMA Associates as Owner's Project Manager for the district's new high school project. The committee voted unanimously at its April 7 meeting — its first to air on community access television — to appoint PMA, subject to contract negotiations, after a competitive process in which nine firms submitted applications and three were interviewed. Community member Bob Cox, who co-led the four-person OPM Selection Subcommittee alongside community member Megan Vincent, High School Principal Todd Bezidlo, and Assistant Superintendent Chris Girardi, told the full committee the decision "was close — it really was close," but that the subcommittee was confident in the recommendation. PMA had previously served as OPM on the Beale School, Sherwood Middle School, and library projects in Shrewsbury. The district will submit its selection to the Massachusetts School Building Authority on April 8 and has an invitation to the MSBA's May 4 review panel; contract execution is expected within two weeks of MSBA approval, after which the project enters designer selection. Under the committee's working timeline, a town-wide debt exclusion vote is projected no earlier than fall 2027 and construction completion no earlier than August 2030.
