Sewer Commission Approves Two Drain Layer Licenses, Three Permits
Water · Meeting of March 31, 2026
Millbury Sewer Commission clears licenses, permits and a $370 billing fix in a brief session. Members unanimously approved drain layer's licenses for Matthew Anderson, doing business as 102 Property Maintenance Inc., and longtime local contractor Ken Ferro, along with sewer connection permits for 5 Thomas Hill Road, 17 Juniper Drive and 4 Benton Street. The commission's longest discussion centered on a Riverland Street property where water use appeared to double after a faulty meter, replaced March 3, skewed readings; members granted a 25,000-gallon abatement, cutting the bill from $636 to $370.
"They noticed that there were a lot of high water use, reached out to Aquarion, and there was a meter issue," one member said. The board also floated consulting town counsel on handling future meter-related billing disputes.
