Board of Selectmen · Meeting of August 11, 2026
North Brookfield's Board of Selectmen approved a $347,490.30 Chapter 90 paving project and a $58,448 library and police station lighting upgrade financed through a National Grid 0 percent loan. Town Accountant Sheila LeBlanc presented a Chapter 90 balance of $526,815.36, and the board revoted an engineering estimate with Stantec Consulting Services up to $60,000 from a previously approved $50,000. Chair Jamie Gilman held back a $78,025.66 Starrett Court and Chase Road paving estimate, saying he wanted to "leave that $532,000" for an anticipated fiscal 2027 allocation "to actually put together an action plan" once a November pavement survey identifies priorities.
Separately, a Special Town Meeting approved five fire and police salary transfers tied to the town's new single-chief fire department structure, and the board accepted a $1,500 Bob's Discount Furniture donation for new fire headquarters furniture.
