Select Board · Meeting of August 7, 2026

Mendon Select Board maps FY27 priorities, swaps two cruisers in a marathon goal-setting session. Chair Michael Merolli, Vice Chair Alejna Brugos and members Jason Kuter, Brian Morford and Brendan Chenelle unanimously declared a 2017 and a 2014 Ford Explorer surplus, trading them toward replacements Police Chief Dave Kersey said would arrive in about three weeks under a new vendor program, versus a typical five- to six-month wait; a $71,000 gas cruiser now runs $65,000 to $66,000 for an electric model after a $15,000 Green Communities grant. The board also approved Girl Scouts' use of Town Hall's upper room Aug. 28.

Town Administrator Jeremy reported a completed ADA transition plan and one still-unsigned union MOU, before members ranked master plan implementation, a Cook Cemetery plan, land use and resident communication as fiscal 2027 priorities. "There is no more federal money coming," one member warned, urging financial discipline.
