Sturbridge Select Board hires new dispatcher, opens town meeting warrant with battery storage moratorium pending. The board unanimously appointed Megan Saucier as full-time police dispatcher at $24.24 per hour starting February 3, after the police chief called her "a strong fit for our communications center." Members accepted a $9,500 bid from Green Hill Engineering for a Grand Trunk Trail base plan and approved a tax abatement on 15 Downey Road parcels tied to the town's land acquisition. The board also opened warrants for the April 27 annual and special town meetings, including a still-unfinished article establishing a moratorium on battery energy storage systems, and added a two-year Board of Health seat to the 2026 town election ballot.

The meeting opened with tributes to constable Ron Comar and Board of Health member Rich Volpe, both recently deceased.
