Planning Board · Meeting of March 25, 2026

Bolton Planning Board approved a new accessory dwelling unit and advanced zoning warrant articles ahead of spring Town Meeting. The board voted 4-0 to approve a roughly 1,200-square-foot accessory unit at 113 Still River Road for owner Thomas Broomfield, conditioned on paving the driveway apron 20 feet from the road. Members also voted 4-0 to add a contractor's yard definition and amended driveway waiver language to Articles 11-14 of the warrant, after public comment from Doug Story and Frank Chiodo on contractor storage uses near Forbush Mill Road.

The board voted 4-0 to approve a $3,900 Horsley Witten Group peer-review scope for a Ballville Road lodging special permit, with a hearing set for April 8. Resident Mark Giunta told the board lodging was never contemplated when the roughly 750-acre parcel was rezoned years ago, saying "we spent a considerable amount of time discussing this at town meeting."
