CLINTON — The Rauscher Farm Management Sub Committee weighed seeking a grant, possibly $10,000 to $50,000, to hire a professional forester to thin large white pines for habitat diversity. Members said the current funding cycle's deadline is too tight but agreed to research feasibility for next year, with one member calling the grant money "serious money." The committee also reported the Conservation Commission agreed to restart the accessible path to Clamshell Pond through the Permanent Building Committee rather than push it onto the June 1 town meeting warrant, a process complicated by interim Town Administrator Mike Ward's contract expiring near the end of June. The panel approved minutes from January 14 and February 11 by roll call and reported its new website, rauscherfarm.org, is now live to promote an April 25 wildlife program and a May 9 volunteer day.
The committee is also pricing two new metal barn signs within an existing $5,000 budget.
