Mendon warns a regional school budget gap could top $2 million. Town Administrator Jeremy told the Select Board that Mendon-Upton Regional School District's still-developing budget could carry an assessment increase exceeding $2 million against the roughly $560,000 the town planned for, driven largely by health insurance overruns, raising the prospect of a May override vote. "We can come up with a little more than $560,000.

We cannot come up with $2 million." The board separately authorized up to $125,000 in deficit spending after Highway Superintendent John Dudley reported 22 winter storm events this season versus 15 or 16 last year. Members also accepted a $100,000 Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant, appointed cadet Sean Glennon at $25 an hour, and set Annual Town Meeting for May 12, 2026.
