Millbury Select Board elects new chair, approves two restaurant licenses. Members unanimously chose Mary Krumzek as chair, Brian Soar as vice chair and Nicholas Lazaro as clerk after newly seated members Soar and Michael Gilchrist joined the board. The board approved a common victualer license for Yard House USA Inc. at 70 Worcester Providence Turnpike, expected to open around mid-June, and for Blackstone Creamery LLC, taking over the retiring Christopher's Ice Cream at 22 West Street, Krumzek recused herself from the latter vote, citing a personal stake in the business.

The board also accepted $9,000 in Asa Waters Mansion sponsorships from Winn Waste, Millbury Federal Credit Union and bankHometown, and a $500 senior center donation from Susan Gibbons, while setting aside a $250 gift from the "Committee to Elect Nick Lazaro" pending a check with town counsel. Resident Terry Burke told the board, "It's on your shoulders now," warning downtown parking protections had already failed once.
