Millbury launches senior digital literacy program with GetSetUp
MILLBURY — The town and its library each rolled out new efforts this week to help residents navigate technology, while Millbury Public Schools finalized a handful of policy changes ahead of the 2026-27 school year.

The town has launched a new program aimed at helping older residents build digital skills. Through a partnership with GetSetUp, seniors can now take live and on-demand classes alongside other older adults to improve their comfort with technology, according to the town's News Flash.
Separately, the Conservation Commission is looking to fill a vacancy on its board. The panel is responsible for protecting Millbury's wetlands, lakes, ponds and streams, and the town is seeking a resident interested in taking on the role.
SCHOOLS
Millbury Public Schools notified sixth-grade families that the cost of attending Nature's Classroom this fall will drop by $50 per student, a reduction officials credited to strong family participation in a fundraiser held in June.
The district also issued several policy updates as students prepare to return in the fall, including an updated cell phone and earbud policy, new student parking guidelines for 26-27, and an update to the district's 26-27 attendance policy.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Millbury Public Library kicked off its summer reading program, open to all ages, running through Aug. 8. Participants can sign up to read and earn prizes, with additional registered events planned throughout the summer.
The library has also begun offering "Digital Navigators" — staff on hand at certain times to help patrons with smartphones, printing, downloading books and other tech troubles, with formal classes to follow. The library separately is promoting a media-literacy feature on spotting AI-generated fake news and video, part of the national NewsGuard Academy series.
