Milford ZBA Reappoints Officers, Accepts Withdrawal of Mason Drive Variance Petition
MILFORD — June 11, 2026 — Milford's Zoning Board of Appeals reorganized its leadership and accepted a last-minute variance withdrawal at its June 11 meeting. The board unanimously reappointed its sitting chairman and John Mastriani as vice chairman in back-to-back votes, completing the annual post-election reorganization. The board then voted five to zero to accept a written request — received the same afternoon — to withdraw without prejudice the only substantive petition on the docket, a variance application for 2 Mason Drive filed by Jacob Marais, Jacqueline Marais, and Maria Marais. Attorney David Bertnazzi submitted the withdrawal letter on the applicants' behalf, offering no explanation for the decision. Because the withdrawal was without prejudice, the Marais applicants retain the right to refile.
