Douglas's Zoning Board of Appeals reorganized and cleared three cases in a 22-minute meeting Wednesday. Chair Daniel Heney and Vice Chair Michael Fitzpatrick were both reappointed without opposition. The board accepted a withdrawal without prejudice from James Farrell's pool variance at 20 Birch Street, and granted Westview LLC a continuance to November 4 on a Southwest Main Street case after Heney disclosed he had miscalculated the matter's extension dates, calling it "a mistake" he would correct.
Members unanimously approved a special permit letting Aaron Sokrat build a 10-foot-4 by 21-foot screened porch at 36 Locust Street, also known as Douglas Orchard and Farm, at a 30.7-foot setback. The board also directed staff to confirm streetlight placement for the North Village project after an update from project manager Neil Rybicki, and approved September 2 minutes with Heney abstaining.
