Milford School Committee Unanimously Backs Ten Vocational Programs for New High School

MILFORD — June 18, 2026 — Milford School Committee backs ten Chapter 74 vocational programs for new high school project. The committee voted unanimously Thursday to endorse the proposed program list, which includes 90-seat tracks in electricity, medical assisting, plumbing, and robotics and automation engineering technology, and smaller programs in fields including HVAC, environmental science, veterinary science, and public safety. Superintendent Dr. Craig Pinsigli said the list was shaped by a consultation with Blackstone Valley Technical High School Superintendent Anthony Steele, who identified electricity, plumbing, and HVAC as regionally under-served and said his district would provide a formal letter of support. The committee also approved a consent agenda including a $29,588.87 gift from the Community Foundation for MetroWest for an after-school math tutoring club and a warrant of $55,544.37, while deferring action on a proposed Milford TV facilities exclusivity agreement after member Chris raised concerns about the scope of exclusive rights and a potential conflict of interest involving a committee member who also sits on the Milford TV board.
