Milford Planning Board Continues Beaver Street Propane Site Review to June 2

MILFORD — May 19, 2026 — Milford Planning Board continues propane storage site review, citing unresolved retaining wall repairs. The board voted unanimously at its May 19 meeting to continue the amended site plan application for a Slick City propane storage facility at 31 Beaver Street to June 2, pending a written determination from structural engineer Richard Bushnell on whether shimmed block courses on one retaining wall are acceptable. Rich Gordon, owner of Bay State Engineering and the building, told the board that an operator who pushed excavation equipment against the left-side wall during hydrant installation "lost his job" over the failure, and committed to having Bushnell witness every stage of the wall rebuild. Town Engineer Liz cautioned the board that approving the propane storage amendment before receiving Bushnell's written findings on the shimmed section "would be, maybe this will work, maybe it won't." The board also unanimously denied a waiver of site plan review for a proposed mini mart-to-office conversion at 20 Main Street, finding that a 2003 site plan no longer reflects current conditions and that eight required parking spaces are undocumented; applicant Kevin Ribeiro was directed to hire an engineer or surveyor to produce an updated plan.
