Zoning Board · Meeting of August 24, 2026

Mendon Zoning Board of Appeals Chair Matthew Clark recuses himself, board closes doors over litigation. Clark disclosed a conflict of interest just minutes into the August 24 meeting and left the room so Vice Chair Tom Merolli, Member John Vandersluis and Alternate Lawney Tinio could vote to enter executive session under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 30A, Section 21(a)(3), the exemption for discussing litigation strategy. "I'd like to disclose my conflict of interest with this upcoming executive session, so I will leave the room," Clark said.

The board took three votes total, all unanimous: approving April 16, 2026 minutes, entering the closed session, and adjourning. No zoning applications, variances or permits were discussed in open session, and the litigation's subject was not disclosed.
