Lunenburg Select Board approves used-car license and sewer appointment while racing toward a Proposition 2½ override decision. Town Manager Jennifer told the board Tuesday that the FY27 budget deficit now stands at $3,150,993.89 after the school department revised its numbers downward from an initial $3,357,213.88 gap presented to the Finance Committee on February 19. The board voted 4-0 on each of four action items: approving a Class 2 dealer license for Unique Motors Group USA Inc. at 40 Summer Street, appointing Alan Wilson to the Sewer Commission through May 16, ratifying Melissa Sargent as Council on Aging outreach coordinator, and authorizing the Montachusett Regional Planning Commission to use $10,000 in direct local technical assistance funds to pursue a housing production plan grant.

Board member Emke said she considers an override warrant article essentially certain — "it seems silly that we wouldn't be" — with the legal deadline for placing the question on the May 16 annual town election ballot falling on April 11 and the town meeting booklet printer deadline one day earlier on April 8.
