Other Committee · Meeting of October 28, 2026

SHREWSBURY — The Lake Quinsigamond Commission voted to ban houseboats and ordered a one-year trespass for a Marlboro boater. Commissioners approved the houseboat prohibition 7-1 after public comment raised sewage, homelessness and personal-liberty concerns, with resident Paulo Martins calling the rule "very precise" and "one size fits all." Separately, the commission voted 8-0 to trespass Maron Hall Cardozo and his two vessels from the lake for a year following a summer of incidents including an August 30 jet ski crash, even though attorney Jacinda De Cruz said a magistrate found no probable cause on any of five resulting criminal charges. The commission also approved unanimous drawdowns of Newton Pond, Lake Quinsigamond, Flint Pond and Heavy Pond beginning in November, approved the Quinsigamond Rowing Association's 2027 schedule, and set its next meeting for December 2.
