Finance Committee · Meeting of June 17, 2026

West Brookfield's Finance Committee approved $13,275 in mid-year transfers to cover fire department uniforms and mutual-aid equipment. Members moved $8,422 from the Firefighter's Salary account to buy turnout gear, hoods and helmets required under the department's collective bargaining agreement, and shifted $4,853 from training wages to fund standardized drafting equipment. One member called the department's current gear below "state-of-the-art" standards.

Two Recreation Department transfer requests were tabled without detail. The committee approved minutes from May 27 and June 2, each with one abstention, and discussed reviving a previously rejected proposal for a Warren-style electronic "clicker" voting system at future town meetings, with members agreeing to bring suggestions to a session tentatively set for July 8.
