DOUGLAS — February 20, 2026 — Douglas Cemetery Commission votes to pay conservation fee, moves plant-removal project forward. The two-member commission voted unanimously at its February 20 meeting to authorize payment of approximately $450 to the Conservation Commission to cover a wetland inspection fee tied to removing encroaching plants at Douglas Center Cemetery, clearing the way for the commission to submit a formal application and get on the Conservation Commission's agenda. Commissioners also reported that Holland Supply Company confirmed new cemetery signs — purchased at the original town-meeting-approved price after a proposed $50 increase was successfully pushed back — are expected to arrive within a week and will be delivered to the highway barn for spring installation. The commission approved its annual report draft and ended the meeting with a balance of $14,302.02 in its account.
