SOUTHBOROUGH — The Community Preservation Committee heard updates on the Harold Fay park and trail projects. Recreation representatives said a parking study, a federal grant answer and costs should arrive before the June 30 application deadline. Travis said the splash pad shrank from 8,000 to 2,000 square feet, and a grant could cover up to $600,000 of a roughly $1.2 million project.
A trails group representative said phase two bids were $448,000 and $427,000, and padding the higher bid produced about $618,000 against about $211,000 on hand. Members suggested a bridge-only option and asked for a detailed closeout form. The committee approved the March 26 minutes by roll call and set June 11 for its next meeting.
