Conservation · Meeting of August 10, 2026
Northborough's Conservation Commission voted 5-0 to approve a stormwater permit for a three-lot Barefoot Road subdivision after a lengthy fight over how conditions should apply. Conservation Agent Glenda Williamson opposed an applicant-proposed clause limiting most conditions, including a federal EPA construction permit requirement, to the building lot alone, saying "it's one development, one chunk of disturbance." Member Todd Helwig said any future waiver request on the tight lot "it's a no go for my position." The board also voted 5-0 to release two other Barefoot Road lots from a 2025 wetlands order, continued a 17 Green Street subdivision hearing to September 14 after a resident raised septic and well-water concerns, and directed staff to send a certified letter to a Solomon Pond Road property owner setting an October 15 deadline to finish restoration work left unfinished after vegetation removal and pesticide use near a pond.
