Conservation board continues two hearings, backs Brigham Hill land pass

Grafton Conservation Commission continues two wetlands hearings, grants a permit extension and passes on a land option. The board, chaired by Sandra Brock, unanimously continued hearings on a 21 Meadowbrook Road house and an 81 Millbury Street tree-restoration project to May 5, after consultant Matt Marro outlined plans to plant 15 trees and 72 shrubs on a lot where roughly 70 trees were cut without authorization. Commissioner Travis Mast said bare-root plantings "always do better than container stock, unless you can water them in," and pushed for a written monitoring plan.

Neighbor Nancy Leone asked for evergreen screening and a survival guarantee in a letter read into the record. The commission also granted a three-year extension for 130 and 134 Worcester Street and voted 5-0 to advise the Select Board to decline a right of first refusal on 196 Brigham Hill Road, already covered by a conservation restriction.
