School Committee · Meeting of May 18, 2026
North Brookfield's School Committee approved Superintendent Tim McCormick's overdue 2024-2025 evaluation and opened pay talks behind closed doors. The board, meeting Monday at NBHS, found McCormick met all five performance goals before voting unanimously to move into executive session on his compensation. Separately, parent Daniel Mann appealed his son Cooper's exclusion from the National Honor Society over an attendance policy, telling the board "he missed eligibility by only a few days." McCormick reported 35 percent of the town's children now attend school elsewhere through school choice, versus a 25 percent state average, while the district collected nearly $283,000 in added revenue from special education students choicing in.
The committee also gave third-reading approval to a policy ending student timeout spaces and set its fiscal 2027 budget hearing for June 3.
