Conservation · Meeting of January 15, 2026
Warren's Conservation Commission flagged aggressive tree clearing near a stream and continued a Carl Street hearing. Chair Joyce Eichacker said of a Pearl Street area parcel near Mark's Mountain, "They have almost clear cut this whole area," and members agreed to pull the forest cutting plan records before the February 11 meeting to check compliance with the state's one-third basal-area cutting limit. Member Phillip Woodford confirmed that rule.
The board also continued a hearing for a Carl Street project after the applicant's surveyor fell ill, and ratified payroll totaling $241.67, $2,223.08 and $190.55 for periods through January 10 on a unanimous 5-0 roll call. Members separately reviewed a Planning Board referral for a Richard Demetrius gravel pit reopening on Old West Brookfield Road and found, using state GIS mapping, that "their work is completely out of jurisdiction" of wetlands rules.
