Charter Review Committee · Meeting of May 12, 2026

PAXTON — The Charter Review Committee revised the budget article of Paxton's draft charter. Members approved the May 5 minutes, with the chair voting "present," and agreed the Transition Provisions article needed no changes. They replaced fixed budget deadlines with months: February, March and April.

They changed "public hearing" to "open meeting" and had the town administrator "post" rather than "present" the budget at town meeting. They struck a provision on recognizing the Finance Committee first. The Town Administrator said the timeline "syncs up pretty well." Members tentatively set meetings for May 26, June 9 and June 16, and Donna Graf Parsons asked for reappointment answers by May 22.

The committee adjourned at about 7 p.m., before finishing the article.
