Bolton Select Board votes unanimously to lay out Moderator Way for town meeting acceptance
BOLTON — April 9, 2026 — Bolton Select Board unanimously lays out Moderator Way and ratifies police union contract at rare in-person meeting. The board voted 3-0 Thursday to accept the layout of Moderator Way under a Street Acceptance Plan dated December 15, 2025 and revised March 13, 2026, clearing the way for a final acceptance vote at the May 4 Annual Town Meeting at the High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. Town Administrator Marie reported that roughly $10,000 remains in the New England Stormwater Management contract for four outstanding drainage and pond maintenance items, with an estimated $18,000 surplus expected to be directed toward catch basin repairs before any balance flows to the general fund. The board also ratified a new contract with the Bolton Police Union Local 286 following a closed executive session, approved revised DPW bulky waste fees — raising the soiled mattress disposal fee from $25 to $50 — and appointed Alan Levin to the Public Ways Safety Committee for a three-year term expiring June 30, 2028. On the same day, a $200,000 fair-share supplemental earmark requested through Senator Kennedy's office was accepted as part of advancing amendments, and up to $100,000 in Environmental Bond Bill language for Bauer Conservation Land was filed for inclusion as of April 14.
