Planning Board · Meeting of September 2, 2026
Northborough's Planning Board approved the Knox Trail Lane subdivision off Green Street and a related scenic road permit. The board voted 5-0 to grant a scenic road permit allowing removal of about 80 feet of stone wall, then voted 5-0 to approve the definitive subdivision plan with 28 conditions. Member Carter Brennan cast the lone dissenting votes, 4-1, on two of 12 waivers tied to tree preservation, saying he "would have preferred if I could see how many trees were being removed personally." Resident Sean McCann of 10 Corn Farm Road raised wetlands and vernal-pool concerns during public comment; engineer Justin LeClaire said the project's stormwater design produces less post-development runoff than existing conditions in every modeled storm event, a figure peer reviewer Steve Boulay said he verified against state standards.
The Conservation Commission holds its own hearing on the project September 15.
