Auburn Schools OK Six Policies, Pause Two Others
School Committee · Meeting of September 30, 2026
Auburn School Committee approves six policies and previews a new internship pilot for Auburn High School seniors. Principal DeLongchamp, with teachers Jeff Berg, Becca Thompson and Bill Wright, outlined a spring pilot for 20 to 30 seniors who maintain at least a "68 percent" average, calling it "probably the most excited I've been to a school committee meeting all time." The committee voted unanimously to approve updated policies JKAA, JJH, KF, KF-R, KFA and KFA-R, while holding back two solicitation policies, KHA and KHA-R, for further review. Superintendent Escaza briefed members on his 90-day entry plan with NISIP coach Marco Rodriguez, and the committee welcomed new Director of Pupil Services Dr.
Kristen Campione. A year-to-date budget report showed 95 percent of the fiscal 2026 budget already encumbered, leaving about $1.6 million unspent.
