AUBURN — May 13, 2026 — Auburn Conservation Commission issues enforcement order halting unpermitted construction within wetland buffer at 330 Leicester Street. The commission voted unanimously 6-0 Wednesday to order work stopped at the property after Land Use Coordinator Nat Bickford revealed that a building permit for a home addition had been approved in December 2025 through the town's OpenGov online portal — apparently without triggering required Conservation Commission review — with the site measuring roughly 80 feet from the wetland boundary, inside the commission's 100-foot jurisdiction. Chair Michael Garland said the former staffer whose name appeared on the approval, Tom Fallon, "was very thorough" and suggested a portal misunderstanding rather than deliberate authorization was to blame.
