Winchendon Partners With Discovery Maps to Create Town Visitor and Community Guide
The town's Economic Development Task Force announced a new partnership with Discovery Maps to produce a professionally illustrated visitor and community map, a move that could lift the profile of local businesses and attractions heading into the summer tourism season.
TOWN HALL
The Economic Development Task Force unveiled a collaboration with Discovery Maps to create an illustrated guide spotlighting Winchendon's attractions, businesses, services, and destinations. No release date for the map was included in the announcement, but the partnership signals a coordinated push to draw visitors and connect residents with what the town has to offer.
Residents should also note two near-term scheduling items: Town Hall will be closed Thursday, July 2, in observance of the July 4th holiday and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 6. Anyone with time-sensitive business should plan accordingly.
With a heat event forecast for the holiday stretch, the town has arranged a cooling center at the Clark Memorial YMCA, 155 Central Street, open Wednesday, July 1 through Friday, July 3, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Residents without air conditioning or those who need a cool, safe space are encouraged to take advantage of the free resource.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Beals Memorial Library Board of Trustees meets Tuesday, June 30. Also on Tuesday, the library hosts its Summer Reading Club and a Produce Produce Paint Party — a creative program pairing fresh produce with painting. Times for those events were not listed in available sources; check the town calendar at townofwinchendon.com for details.
